About Busboys

Busboys Collection is the classic bus preservation endeavor of the Holter family, headed by brothers Dan and Stan, a.k.a. the Bus Boys. (the American Bus Pickers). With a history of owning and running multiple bus operations since 1959 as soely a family operation, our experience in the transportation industry has given us the appreciation for preserving our industries heritage. Our Busboys Collection endeavors provide the public with a hands on experience to enjoy the history of transportation with various buses of all makes and models, along with many antique artifacts, memorabilia and library of paper material. Busboys is committed to keeping our industries heritage alive by sharing our collections with the public for generations to come.

Our bus collection to date comprises of over 90 buses, including transit, (city) intercity, (over-the-road) as well as a few school buses encompassing eras from the 1930's on up to modern times. Our mission is the preservation, restoration and continued operation of historic buses and the acquisition and collection of industry artifacts and memorabilia for the education, appreciation and enjoyment of the public. Our aim is to preserve yesterday's history for tomorrows generations.

Our vision is to become an operating bus museum with a permanent independent site to display its buses and bus memorabilia, including a vast library available to the public for research. As a step working toward this vision, the Busboys have established a temporary museum within the operations of its founders located in Bloomington Minnesota. We are open at this time as a free venue to allow others to enjoy the endeavors we've reached thus far.

The "Busboys Collection" is registered as a nonprofit 501C3 organization in Minnesota.
